Chiya was born from the dusty playgrounds, municipal school corridors, and neighborhood galis of Delhi. In a sprawling metropolis of 20 million, the House Sparrow has always belonged everywhere and nowhere else — small, determined, vocal, and endlessly resilient.

When the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and SITDSset out to build India's most ambitious grassroots football competition across 80 clubs and 320 teams, they looked not for a mythical lion or an eagle, but for the bird that every Delhi child sees perched on their classroom window every single morning.

Chiya wears the official jersey with pride. Fast on their wings, fearless in the tackle, and joyful in celebration, Chiya reminds every young boy and girl: you don't need to be big to dream big. You just need wings and a ball.
